Stretch Armstrong Movie Taylor Lautner

Update - Director Breck Eisner has taken over the director seat.

Stretch Armstrong MovieUniversal is going to produce a 3D superhero comedy movie based on Stretch Armstrong, the iconic Hasbro toy introduced in 1976. The film will be directed by Rob Letterman (who brought us Monsters vs Aliens) based on a script by Nicholas Stoller (he wrote the script of Yes Man and Get Him to the Greek). Actor Taylor Lautner who rose to fame thanks to the Twilight Saga has signed up for the lead role. The movie Stretch Armstrong is currently slated for an April 15, 2011 release.

A few words from Producer Brian Grazer about Stretch Armstrong:

"Stretch Armstrong is a character I have wanted to see on screen for a long time. He’s an unconventional kind of super hero with a power that no one would want. It’s a story about a guy stretching - if you will - the limits of what is possible to become all that he can be."
Producer Brian Grazer

And here's a video with Taylor Lautner talking about his role:

"It's like the worst superhero power, possibly, to get, and how you're going to take that and use it for good and how you're going to be creative with that.
The awesome thing with toys is it doesn't give you a story line, so you get to create it. The development process for this movie has been awesome and it's going to continue to be. I just can't wait to see a script."

The movie Stretch isn't high on my list, but I'm still kind of curious about the project.

Anyway, more information about the movie Stretch Armstrong soon, so stay tuned!
:)
